Blades In Sight

Robbie Blake was the hero of the day against Watford and transformed a drastic position into one of the highlights of the season with a second-half brace.

And Kevin Blackwell says the win must have knocked the stuffing out of Sheffield United, who again dropped points at home, and now find Leeds within nine points of them.

Leeds have a game in hand on Neil Warnock’s second-placed side and travel to Bramall Lane on April 17 for, what looks like, the match of the season.

Blackwell: ‘There are plenty of games to go and the great thing about football is the twists and turns in the game.

‘Sheffield United have still got the points and all we can do is keep the pressure on.

‘If we can do that then let’s see where we are around April time, but I cannot praise the lads highly enough.

‘They’ve been through hell and high water at this club and to be where we are is an absolute testament to every player that I have.’
