The boot could be on the other foot for Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell, because rather than pressure from the media that Ken Bates is set to bring in Dennis Wise as the next manager, Blackwell is a wanted man.

The former Sheffield United assistant has gradually impressed many by the way he has transformed the Whites, and the 47-year-old is looking for promotion to the Premiership. But what happens if he fails?

Apparently there are still rumours of Bates seeking to recruit a new manager should Leeds GAIN promotion, never mind FAIL.

But Leicester and Derby have both been linked with Blackwell, and the fact his contract is set to expire in the summer could have a lot to do with it.

Blackwell: ‘At the moment I am not overly concerned about that. Sure, I will sit down with the chairman at some point and have a chat.

‘Right now I’m contracted until after the play-offs and then we’ll see what happens from there.’
