According to Football Insider, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has given our club the green light to pursue a deal for Peterborough United man Marcus Maddison.

The Whites haven’t been as active as first assumed when Bielsa arrived a few weeks ago with only Lewis Baker coming in so far.

However, the Argentine appears happy for us to go after Maddison with him scoring 12 goals and setting up another 23 in all competitions last year.

Certainly, such numbers suggest he’s ready for the Championship and I would be very pleased to see him come to Elland Road.

The Verdict

Maddison is a good player and seems ready for that next step up.

Certainly, there are few managers around that can extract the best out of players as well as Bielsa and if he can work his magic we should see a fine return from the attack-minded Maddison.

Let’s see if we get a deal over the line.
