Bielsa’s glaring error last night must be addressed before play-offs begin

|

Yesterday evening’s game against Brentford will be remembered for all the wrong reasons by the looks of it this season.

A game away at the Bees was always going to be tough but the Whites gave themselves little chance in getting a win with the performance well below where it has been this year.

Panic stations have already begun despite still having a play-off shot, then, and one thing Marcelo Bielsa needs to change in the midfield is playing Kalvin Phillips in these games.

For some reason he doesn’t trust Kalvin in matches like this and prefers the greater mobility Adam Forshaw offers.

It’s a fair point, perhaps, but Phillips has been our best player behind Pablo Hernandez this year, surely we can trust him in games like this – especially when he knows how much it means.

Marcelo Bielsa deserves credit for what he’s done this season, but last night he made a real error and must amend it as soon as.
