Bielsa Won’t Be Drawn On Return Dates For Injured Leeds Duo

|

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa was back in front of the press on Thursday afternoon where he reflected on our EFL Cup success over Salford City and looked ahead to this weekend’s clash with Wigan Athletic.

Having joked that he couldn’t discuss the team selection because he’d been told by a fan to stop doing that, and then quickly confirming that there were no changes to the group that faced Nottingham Forest, Bielsa moved onto injury news.

As fans will know, we are missing Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts at this moment in time and unfortunately, although both are making progress, it doesn’t sound like we can expect them to return to contention any time soon.

Although, compared to last season, at least they are the only two currently ruled out!

In quotes carried by Leeds Live, our gaffer refused to give return dates and stated that they wouldn’t be back any time soon.

“Week by week, they are making the evaluation of this injury process. Probably it will be Roberts in the team before Luke Ayling, but I cannot confirm this date, but we are not talking about players that are going to be coming back soon.”

After all the problems we had last season on an injury front, we won’t want anyone else joining them.
