Image for Bielsa reveals remaining plans for summer transfer window at Leeds

Marcelo Bielsa remains in the market for a new centre-half this summer and that should come as music to our ears.

The Whites are looking short in the middle of defence.

Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper are the main men in the middle of the backline but after that we’ve got very little back-up.

Kalvin Phillips has had to fill in during pre-season but, personally, I’d rather we got in an orthodox option and it appears as though the manager is feeling the same.

Indeed, as quoted by the Express, Bielsa has revealed that he is looking at bringing in a new defender:

“Berardi is a full-back, but he can also play centre-back. Kalvin Phillips can also play in the centre of defence. Ayling has played as a centre-back.

“But if we could add another option in this area it would be good too.”

We do have makeshift options like Phillips and Luke Ayling can play there too but it is a risk we don’t need to take with the window still open.

Who comes in, then, remains to be seen but we need to act sharpish now with less than a week left in the window.
