Marcelo Bielsa is fast approaching his first week completed at the club and, as yet, there have been no signings – how disappointing!
Of course, we shouldn’t get too impatient as I think come the end of the window we’ll be pleased with our summer’s work for sure.
In the meantime, though, we’re having to make do with a number of links and rumours with the latest involving a familiar face to Bielsa.
Indeed, according to El Mundo Deportivo, via the Yorkshire Evening Post, Jon Aurtenetxe is a target of the Argentine with them working together last at Bilbao.
Now a free agent after release by Dundee, it remains to be seen if we go after the defender this summer.
The Verdict
He’s a player that is largely unknown to us I’d have thought but Marcelo obviously knows him and might see him as good enough.
You can’t really question his judgement either, though I’d expect this deal to cause a bit of angst as he would be a gamble.
