Bielsa ready to get ruthless

Marcelo Bielsa undertook his first press conference today as pre-season training got underway at the club.
The Whites have been to Burma and back and have had their summer break and now the hard work really starts at the beginning of what could be a great season for us – we hope at least.
Certainly, though, many of us are expecting that Bielsa will want to improve the quality of the squad and it seems as though he is ready to get rid of a fair few of them.
Phil Hay quoted him as saying:
Bielsa: "The club have got 15 players more than they need. And we still have four or five positions on the field where we need to strengthen." #lufc

The Verdict
This is good news.
Who the 15 players are exactly remains to be see.
However, it’s clear that in the coming weeks he’s going to put the lads through their paces and he’s already laying down the gauntlet that many are in the firing line.
