Some Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media, after one supporter noted a Championship-wide trend that involves the Whites.

United were beaten 1-0 at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday through a controversial first-half Nahki Wells strike, after the ball struck each of the 29-year-old’s arms before he fired home from six yards out.

The result was our sixth defeat of the second-tier campaign and first back-to-back losses of the season, having previously been able to bounce back to record a win or at least settle for a point.

The sides to have emerged victorious over Marcelo Bielsa’s men have not faired as strongly after beating the Whites, though, as each side to claim all of the spoils against us have gone on to either draw or lose their following league fixture.

Swansea City followed their victory at Elland Road in August by opening September with a 1-0 loss at home to Nottingham Forest, while Charlton Athletic edged a 1-0 win over the Whites later in the month only to lose 2-1 at home to the Jacks on October 2.

Do teams treat Leeds as their 'cup final'?

Yes

No

Millwall meanwhile would follow a 2-1 home win over United with a 3-2 defeat at Brentford in October, and Fulham salvaged a point at Luton Town through a 93rd-minute equaliser five days after beating Leeds 1-0 at Craven Cottage in December.

Sheffield Wednesday were the most recent side to have beaten Bielsa’s men prior to our weekend visit to Loftus Road, on the same day that the Owls were thrashed 5-0 at home to Blackburn Rovers having managed just four shots all game.

The trend of Championship sides failing to win their following league fixture after beating Leeds – excluding QPR, at present – sparked a lot of reaction on social media.

In other Leeds United news, the club are claimed to be mulling over a bid to sign a towering £3million star this month.
