The Whites went top of the league last night as we beat Hull City 1-0 at the KCOM Stadium.

It was a much-needed win, too, given the few draws we were starting to pick up and both Middlesbrough and West Brom continuing to keep the pressure up.

Indeed, West Brom can go back top tonight but we have done our job at least – though it should have been a bit more convincing.

Once again, we squandered a lot of chances and some have wondered whether Samuel Saiz should be scoring more.

Indeed, some are even suggesting that he is not influencing games enough but, as per Phil Hay on Twitter, Marcelo Bielsa has defended the Spaniard and his work:

The stats might not look that impressive for Saiz at the moment but he is often the pass before the pass.

His movement is superb and without him we’d certainly be a poorer unit – Bielsa is spot on with his appraisal.
