Leeds United’s Marcelo Bielsa met the press for the first time today and fielded plenty of questions.
Though he didn’t answer in English, it’s clear already he’s got a good idea of the size of the job awaits him and how he is going to approach getting into it.
Certainly, I can’t wait to see what happens over the coming weeks as he shapes his squad as well as instilling his way of football into the players.
As quoted by Tom Maguire, too, it looks as though it’s going to be a rather aesthetically pleasing affair:
Bielsa: “I prefer to lose rather than to cheat, I prefer beautiful football rather than over pragmatic football.”
“Playing well brings you closer to triumph and victory. I don’t think that we can claim playing badly is a way that achieves victory.” #LUFC

The Verdict
Beautiful football is on the way, then, and that’s something I wouldn’t have associated with some of our players.
The Whites have got some talent, though, let’s not ignore that and if Bielsa can get us playing how he has his other sides in the past, we could be in for a treat at ER this season coming in the Championship.
