Bielsa offers verdict as Leeds injuries mean big absentees for Derby clash

|

Leeds United are looking to rekindle their form against Derby County on Friday evening after losing three consecutive matches across all competitions, missing the chance to open up a large lead at the top of the Championship as a result.

The clash against Frank Lampard’s side, who are also chasing a return to the Premier League, will certainly not be easy for the Peacocks and the task for the Championship leaders has been made even more difficult by injury issues.

Pablo Hernandez could be forced to miss the clash at Elland Road through injury, which means that Tyler Roberts could be handed another opportunity to make an impression – after Bielsa admitted he did not offer the same strengths during the FA Cup game against QPR.

Quoted by the Yorkshire Evening PostBielsa stated Roberts did not have the same impact on his side’s attacking play that 33-year-old veteran Hernandez provides.

“He had three chances to score, so it is very good for a number 10. Then in the building of the offensive play, he did not have the same impact. But he was an influence because he was involved in three chances to score.

“Pablo builds the attacks. Tyler is more focused on finishing the attacks.”
