Leeds United are flying high in the Championship and opened up a four-point lead over their title rivals with victory over Derby County on Friday, putting the Peacocks on course to seal a return to the Premier League.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are chasing a return to the top-flight as they seek to play in the highest tier of English football for the first time since 2004 and, despite shining this term, further recruits in the summer will be required to help establish the Yorkshire side as a Premier League club.
Fortunately, Leeds have a huge reputation and have played a huge part in the developments of a number of recognisable names in world football – and could make a move to bring some familiar faces back to the club at the end of the term.
Liverpool’s James Milner, who left Leeds over a decade ago, has been regularly linked with a return to Elland Road but Fabian Delph, Danny Rose and Aaron Lennon could also be considered as options – although Milner’s vast experience and the fact he is available on a free transfer this summer makes him the ideal recruit.
