Bielsa Believes Unexpected Leeds Star Does The “Most Difficult Thing” In The Game, With Absolute Ease

|

With Leeds United fans hoping to see the side get back to winning ways quickly when the October international break ends, with all the fallout from last weekend’s defeat to Millwall, there were some positives for fans to take.

A few months into his Elland Road career, Brighton and Hove Albion loanee Ben White continues to impress fans with significantly strong performances that don’t really fit his age or relative experience in the game. It’s long looked like we’d signed a gem, albeit temporarily, and we definitely needed him to hit the ground running with our numbers in the defensive ranks.

With another strong performance from the 21-year-old lad on Saturday, manager Marcelo Bielsa had strong words of praise for him following the game given his efforts on the day, and it’s certainly worth a read if his comments passed you by.

Quoted by Leeds Live as Bielsa reflected on the performance and various contentious issues such as Gaetano Berardi’s sending off, he said of White.

“He’s a great player. He takes risks and he doesn’t make mistakes. That is the most difficult thing in football. It’s easy when you don’t risk the ball. It’s normal, when you risk the ball, you have some mistakes, but the best players risk and don’t make mistakes. Everything seems White is in this band.”

Brighton fans did talk the lad up and we’re seeing it for ourselves now and long may it continue, especially as Bielsa rarely picks out individuals for praise, usually sticking to praise or criticism as a team.
