Not for the first time this season, Leeds United fans have been given ample ammunition when it comes to criticising the class of Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United.
With a tough and testy Championship battle between both sides in the campaign of 2018/19, our injury problems all year long finally took their toll and we slipped in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League, and they took the chance to capitalise fully on that.
This week in light of their achievement they held their open top bus parade in Sheffield, but with a distinct lack of class again, it seems some of their players may have been more interested in Leeds itself, as opposed to celebrating their promotion.
With videos and footage emerging that showed some of their players were chanting ‘Leeds are falling apart again’, well, you’d think they’d have other things on their minds rather than obsessing about Elland Road.
No doubt there will be some who think it’s just the players engaging in a little bit of banter, but it’s small time, classless and I’d not applaud our players for being besotted with another club when we should be celebrating our own achievements.
You could even question whether it brings the game into disrepute and showed ‘utmost good faith’ if you wanted to be picky.
Sad sad people on there promotion bus and all they can do is sing about LEEDS UNITED. Pathetic people! #MOT #LEEDS #LUFC @NothingButLUFC @DirtyLeedsLeo @georgeLUFC11 pic.twitter.com/fsDXqSPnHl

LOL. Thought their derby was the other Sheffield team?
Why bother chanting about Leeds.. ????
Pretty sure we wouldn't be chanting about them on our promotion parade.

Pathetic!
80% of the current team won’t be playing next year.— Neil Pearson (@NeilPea56396945) May 7, 2019
Embarrassing

I can understand fans doing it. That’s part and parcel of football and rivalries. But for players to do it on their promotion party bus is beyond embarrassing #lufc https://t.co/bDUvxsJd1N

@c_ellis92 how unprofessional is this ? Annoys me that we have the bad name when there are teams like this out.

Haha, this is what I was getting at the other week. It’s pathetic. More interested in Leeds failing than celebrating their own team/club just because their great great grandad once said they hated Leeds back in the 1800s.
