Ben White has been earning all the plaudits whilst at Leeds United this season and it doesn’t look as though they will be stopping anytime soon.
Indeed, the 22-year-old was recently announced as a member of the EFL Championship’s Team of the Week heading into the international break, however the Brighton and Hove Albion loanee has also gone on to impress Marcelo Bielsa with his performances as well.
The Argentine coach isn’t the only one to have been shocked by how good the defender has developed over the course of the season though, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United both noticing how he has progressed at Elland Road.
Leon Wobschall, a Yorkshire Post football writer, recently admitted that he felt White was an upgrade on Pontus Jansson, to which a number of them appeared to agree with him.
Have done six Leeds games so far this season and have never given Ben White a mark below seven. Was hard to think that they would find an upgrade on Jansson, but they have done. #lufc

White has a WhoScored average rating of 7.22/10, which is the second-highest in the whole Leeds squad, further emphasing the fact that he has been at the top of his game since arriving at the club this summer.
In his last 10 games, the centre-back has played all 90 minutes and has conceded just six goals across all of them. The 22-year-old is owned by Brighton which led one fan to say: ” Personally I would give him an average of 5…but only in case Brighton and other clubs are reading your ratings.”

Totally agree, forget my earlier tweet, don’t know what I was thinking.

Below 7. He’s been above an 8 every game.

Best defender since Radebe/Ferdinand for me. Would love him to sign permanently but the only way that’s happening is if we go up

Best I’ve seen since Woodgate….
There I said it.

Agreed, he’s far better than Jansson, like a younger John Stones. But I do hope it doesn’t take away from how well PJ did for us. Plus, we really have missed that threat from set pieces which the big swede brought!

Pity it’s a loan but what great player he is becoming. Will go on to be a super PL player probably at better clubs than Brighton.

Best defender in the league by a mile.
