Leeds United have performed valiantly so far this season in their quest for a return to the Premier League and returned to the summit of the Championship table after Sunday’s victory over Wigan Athletic.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side face a stern test to retain their position over the course of the coming weeks, starting with this weekend’s clash with fellow promotion chasers West Brom, but the signs so far this season have been largely positive.
Bielsa has earned plenty of praise for the style of football he has installed at Elland Road and additions he made during the summer window have proven to be extremely influential – with perhaps the most important being Barry Douglas.
Signed from Wolves, Douglas has featured in 12 of Leeds’ 16 games so far and has already gone down as a favourite amongst the fans who discussed his importance to the side on social media this week – heaping plenty of praise upon him.
