Leeds got back to winning ways with a much better performance in a 2-0 win over Oldham thanks to two Luciano Becchio goals.

United made three changes for the game with Luciano Becchio, Robert Snodgrass and Aiden White replacing Gary McSheffrey, Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson.

Beckford had Leeds first effort but his shot went wide of the post.

Pawel Abbot had the visitor`s first chance but his effort also went just wide of the post.

Leeds were playing much better than the previous two home games, Howson was next to have a shot but his long range effort cleared the bar.

Robert Snodgrass had a chance but his shot was saved by the Oldham keeper.

Mike Doyle was next to have a chance for Leeds but Brill in the Oldham goal saved his shot.

Andy Hughes was next to shoot but his shot was blocked by former Leeds player Sean Gregan.

The sides went in all square at half time but Leeds were definitely playing much better than the last two home games.

Robert Snodgrass had Leeds first effort of the first half, his free kick from just outside the area was turned around the post by Brill.

Luciano Becchio gave Leeds the lead shortly afterwards, Brill can`t keep hold of Beckford`s shot and Becchio was on hand to shoot into an empty net.

Leeds went 2-0 up inside the hour, when Snodgrass crossed for Becchio whose header gave Brill no chance.

Aidan White had played well and enjoyed a rare start for Leeds, was replaced just past the hour by Max Gradel.

Chris Taylor had Oldham`s best effort after almost 70 minutes, his shot was pushed out for a corner by Ankergren.

Jason Price almost got Oldham back into the game but Andy Hughes cleared his shot off the line.

Max Gradel had a couple of good chances in the space of a few minutes, his second effort going closest when it hit the side netting.

A good win for Leeds and a five point cushion once again over Colchester in third place.
