Barry Fry has been ‘blasted` by Millwall`s fans representative over his comments that suggest early kick-off times for the Lions and the Whites are to save Peterborough.

Both Millwall and Leeds have seen their match times for the away trips, as well as newcomers to League One Leicester City, with the Posh supremo believing that there is something worth saving in Peterborough, and that the 3 clubs in question have a ‘reputation` that warrants these sanctions.
Mr Fry, who I to be fair, usually like, said:
“We want to protect the city of Peterborough. Leeds, Leicester and Millwall fans have a reputation, and we want to give them less time in the pubs before kick-off.”

Peter Garston, the fans representative on the Millwall Board of Directors was less than impressed by Mr Fry`s comments:

“Once again the majority of Millwall fans have been scape-goated for the actions of the minority of football fans generally.

“We are copping the brunt heavily for a problem that is football-wide, not just League One or Millwall.

“The right and fair way around the issues would be better policing and more efficient stewarding employing a common sense approach to handling football fans.”

Vital Leeds Opinion: ‘We all know why games are changed, why Leeds fans were met at the railway station on their way to the Millwall match. We knew why these games were changed to early kick offs. The problem comes in that the issue should have been left as is. To highlight the issue by suggesting some form of battle defence against the entire city is required was bizarre and utterly pointless.

One hopes that Mr Fry will apologise to Leeds, Millwall and even Leicester City fans, who up until now I didn`t even realise had a reputation for destroying P`boro!`
