With the disappointing draw to Nottingham Forest last weekend, Leeds United were looking to get back to winning ways in today’s Championship clash with Wigan Athletic.
Manager Marcelo Bielsa took the lads to the DW Stadium and there was every confidence of a positive performance and all three points – the question was simply, would we maximise our chances?
Well, not quite as we got six from 19 on target, but often criticised striker Patrick Bamford made it count to answer his doubters as he opened the scoring 34 minutes into the game, and then completed his brace in the 65th minute.
Three goals in three games is pathetic for a striker after all!
Wigan were reduced to ten men early on, so those of a glass half empty nature will think we got lucky, but it was a typical performance from me and unlike Forest, we took our chances to pick up another three points.
Onto the next one, hopefully with a bit more belief.
