Do we count this as a decent pre-season performance?

I suppose after the disappointment that surrounded the club after the Manchester United defeat just hours earlier, I think we can go a little bit overboard with this one, cheer ourselves up a bit.

Ryan Edmondson was the centre of attention as a Leeds United XI demolished Tadcaster Albion 5-1, in a game that featured a few of the new signings who are likely to be near the first team, such as Helder Costa and Ben White. There were also a couple from last season like Ezgjan Alioski & Mateusz Klich who for whatever reason didn’t head to Australia.

Whilst Leeds do have a good list of players who will be sharing the starting centre forward spot this season, like Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford, a hat-trick regardless of your opposition is a good way of announcing yourself to the boss, just to remind him that you’re available if he needs you.

It’s not just the manager’s attention who he’ll be looking to grab, but the fans as well. And his three-goal haul certainly did that, as they clambered on to Twitter to gush over the 18-year-old and demand that he be given consideration for Bielsa’s first team plans.
