After a month out of action having sustained an injury following the game against Hull City at the beginning of October, Leeds United fullback Barry Douglas was back on the pitch for our victory over Wigan Athletic.

With Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe taking the headlines as we lifted ourselves back to the top of the Championship table, the performance of the 29-year-old former Wolverhampton Wanderers man picked up a fair bit of traction on social media as fans discussed the game following the fulltime whistle on Sunday.

WhoScored had Douglas down as our third best player on the day with a rating of 7.26 and although he didn’t threaten their goal, his passing on the day was crucial and he was the second most involved player based on touches so it’s easy to see why the fan favourite came in for praise.

Whether or not it was his best performance is down to each fan to answer for themselves, but every time he takes to the pitch he’s showing what a cracking piece of summer transfer business he was.
