Fans have been calling for Polish international Mateusz Klich to be rested after LUFCDATA posted a tweet stating how many minutes the Leeds United midfielder has already played this season.
LUFCDATA stated: “Worth pointing out Mateusz Klich has played 78 matches for club and country since the start of last season. Approaching 6,200 minutes of football played. Phenomenal engine.”
However according to WhoScored, over the course of the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons, the Poland international has played exactly 5260 minutes for Leeds, whilst that’s not counting international minutes. Nevertheless, that’s still an impressive amount of game time, and you can now see why fans believe he’s being overworked.

Klich has recently been called up to his national side Poland, which will mean even more minutes for the Leeds man. You can’t help but feel there’s an injury waiting to happen, playing that much football on top of Marcelo Bielsa’s training regimes, must take its toll on the body at some point.
One fan went as far to say: “It shows. He’s gone after 30min in every game and nonexistent in the 2nd half. Badly needs 4 weeks off.” Four weeks is a little over the top, but at least one game and lighter training should be good enough.

Bielsa called him a “serious trainer”. That shows. You can’t do what he’s done without being a top pro. Sometimes consistency and reliability are taken for granted. He might not be scoring goals much but his intelligence is evident. The passing and the off the ball runs …

Got to be the reason he had dropped off lately? Once Forshaw is back it’s surely time out
