With a number of positives for Leeds United fans to take following the weekend’s victory over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium, a number of players came in for praise following the fulltime whistle.
Fighting back from behind as the hosts took an early lead, goals from Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe gave us a 2-1 victory and returned us to the top of the second tier table.
For a number of fans, key to the performance once again was 22-year-old Academy graduate Kalvin Phillips. He’s already come in for significant praise under manager Marcelo Bielsa this season given his improved form, and he’s also had to take the flak on a couple of occasions where he simply had a bad day, but he’s bounced back from every knock and was arguably at his best on Sunday afternoon.
think Phillips was class today, my MOTM. Douglas was good too, really missed him

Great performance. Everyone played well, Phillips again outstanding. A special mention to Dallas who I thought was steady. #LUFC

Great win, that. Feel WBA are there for the taking next week. Hope I'm right. Phillips excellent – again – and so much vigour in our play both on and off the ball. #lufc

As the above comments on social media suggest, many believe he is our most improved player under the Argentine gaffer.
