Leeds automatic promotion hopes were dealt a blow as they were beaten at Millwall.

United boss Simon Grayson made two changes from the side that beat Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Paul Connolly and Jake Livermore came in for the injured George McCartney and Barry Bannan who dropped to the bench.

Leeds had the first chance of the afternoon but Robert Snodgrass failed to trouble Forde in the Millwall goal.

Millwall then won a succession of corners without troubling Schmeichel in the Leeds goal.

It was a stop start beginning to the game with a number of injuries holding up the play.

Millwall took the lead on 24 minutes when James Henry beat Kasper Schmeichel with a free kick from just outside the area.

It was 2-0 on the half hour, when Liam Trotter flicked in from a Millwall corner.

Robert Snodgrass tried to get Leeds straight back into the game but his weak shot was east doe Forde.

Max Gradel then worked some room for Becchio who looked to be getting a goal back for Leeds but Paul Robinson got back to put the ball out for a corner.

Bradley Johnson then shot wide as Leeds couldn`t find a goal to get back into the game before the break.

Simon Grayson made a switch at half time with Davide Somma replacing Robert Snodgrass.

Leeds got a lifeline early in the second half when Becchio prodded in from close range to reduce the deficit.

Morison nearly restored their two-goal lead when Schmeichel got the faintest touch to turn it around the post.

Gradel then forced a great save from Forde as Leeds searched for an equaliser.

Steve Morison made it 3-1 when he reacted first to a shot from Henry.

Neil Harris almost made it four when he shot over after good work from Millwall.

Leeds got a late consolation when Ross McCormack made sure of the finish after Andy O`Brien had got a touch onto a Leeds throw.

It was to be the last action of a disappointing afternoon for Leeds.
