According to the Sheffield Star, the Whites are looking at bringing in Frederico Venancio with the player linked with Sheffield Wednesday a lot this summer.

The defender was on loan with the Owls last season.

Indeed, he did well too despite their poor campaign overall and they have been trying to get a deal done for him for some time.

Financially, though, things are looking over there and I would imagine that we have more clout to try and get this deal done.

Certainly, it would be a good signing given his performances last year in the league but it remains to be seen if we’re going to make a real firm offer for him.

The Verdict

I’d be a big fan of this deal coming off.

A player who reads the game well, he’d be a real upgrade on Liam Cooper at centre-half.

There is, of course, a bit to go here but, even so, it’s a nice sounding transfer.
