Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Leeds United coach Jesse Marsch and has applauded the American for his work so far.

In an article posted by LeedsLive via Twitter, Arsenal coach Arteta said, “There’s some similarities [to Bielsa’s team] but every coach has his own book, but what Jesse has done over the time he has been there is really impressive.”

Leeds will host Arsenal in the Premier League later this afternoon and after a good start, Jesse Marsch’s Leeds have faltered a little of late. With only 2 points from a possible 15, his side sits precariously just above the relegation places. It is obviously too early to make predictions of relegation but Leeds really do need to start picking up points soon, otherwise, they will be looking over their shoulders at the chasing pack.

The games come thick and fast in England and they don’t come much tougher than a team that is flying at the top of the league. The Gunners have only lost once all season and have won the other 8 of their 9 games so far, including an exciting 3-2 win over Liverpool last weekend. Mikel Arteta has done a superb job with his young team so far and the Whites will have to be at the top of their game to stand a chance of gaining anything in the way of points later today.

Arteta has been speaking about his opposite number on the touchline and he said. “With Jesse and the teams that they have already played, it is very clear what he wants to do – be a really intense team, a really dynamic team and a really good team when there are spaces to attack.”

Marsch will know just how hard the task is going to be against a side that has taken 24 points from a possible 27. He must make sure his team have a solid game plan in place to try and overturn their recent poor form that has seen the Whites remain winless in five. With a stacked fixture list from now, until the World Cup starts in November, his team must start taking points from games and getting themselves further up the table.

Leeds will then face Leicester City on Thursday at the King Power Stadium, with Fulham the visitors to Elland Road the following Sunday.
