I think I knew the game for us was up last night when Jay-Roy Grot blazed his header over the bar from point blank range.
What more is there to say about this season when that happens? Put simply, we’ve not been good enough all year and we lack the players to make it count when it matters.
Okay, so perhaps I’m being a little harsh on a player who is still very young and potentially good but anyone could have scored that header, literally anyone.
I think Grot should stay, myself, because I think he could become a decent player in the future with his power but it’s clear he needs to work on that, as do the rest of the strikers on finishing chances.
Let’s take a look at the reaction to the lad’s miss, then, because it largely summed up how we’ve all been feeling about the club this season really…
79' The corner is played short to Saiz, he hits a cross with the outside of his boot and Jay-Roy Grot heads over from close range 2-0
