Another Leeds blow as 20-cap attacker is not keen on January switch

|

Leeds United currently stand with a huge chance of earning promotion to the Premier League for the first time since suffering relegation in 2004 but there is still work to be done in the second half of the campaign.

The Peacocks head into Friday night’s crucial clash with Derby County on the back of three consecutive defeats across all competitions, which have intensified the need for Marcelo Bielsa to be active in the January market.

After losing Samuel Saiz to Getafe, Leeds are in the market for an exciting winger and have been attributed with interest in Hoffenheim’s Steven Zuber – who the Bundesliga side are looking to offload after he fell down the pecking order.

However, German outletĀ BildĀ states the 27-year-old Switzerland international is not keen on a move to the second-tier of English football and it could see Leeds miss out on a player who would provide vast experience with 20 international caps.

Unfortunately, it is a position Leeds have had to get used to over the past 15 years but, given their current position, there is still a chance that they will be able to convince a player of Zuber’s character to take a punt and help the promotion push.
