‘Almost impossible’ – Lots of Leeds fans demand club considers these names for centenary motif

|

Our centenary season is nearly upon us, and, to go with the expected new badge, Leeds have asked renowned international sports artist Jamie Cooper to create a unique Dream Scene artwork to commemorate the club’s special birthday.

The celebratory motif will be a three-metre tall oil on canvas piece of art that brings together 25 members of our esteemed history, and will be unveiled later in the year during the planned celebrations.

Already confirmed to be included in Cooper’s design are Billy Bremner, Norman Hunter, Peter Lorimer and Gary Speed, while supporters can select five additional figures from a list of 61 names – one of which is Marcelo Bielsa.

The icons selected will then be entwined into a modern-day dressing room scenario, featuring subtle hints to the highs and lows from throughout the club’s 100-year history.

Voting will be open until April 29, and supporters wishing to get their hands on a replica copy of the artwork will have their chance to later on in the year.

For now, though, here are some of the names and moments being suggested on social media…
