With Leeds United making far more moves in the transfer market this summer with an eye to the future as we further bolster a depleted Under 23 group, former Carlisle United Academy product, Josh Galloway, put pen to paper on scholarship terms on Thursday afternoon.
The highly rated 17-year-old midfielder heads into Thorp Arch from Carlisle for an undisclosed fee and he is the second player to make that particular switch this summer following Liam McCarron’s move back in July, and he was involved with their first team during pre-season under gaffer Steven Pressley, although he is waiting for his maiden senior bow.
🔵 Very best wishes to youth scholar Josh Galloway as he makes the move to @LUFC … more details here 👇 https://t.co/JxjwHJHjKX

I know nothing about the lad but there’s a sense on social media that Carlisle fans are disappointing to see him move on and not sign professional terms with them, so we could well have another potential gem on our hands here and it’s a name we may see regularly in the next couple of years.
What type of midfielder is he?

A speedy and direct running midfielder who can play out wide too

If it's any consolation, it happens to us with prem teams too. Just how football works now. youngsters are going to want to go to bigger clubs with bigger facilities to develop them.

Good luck to young josh but what's going on selling Crown jewels that elvis said he believed in+would be given chances here

The fact he didn’t get a professional contract after pre season baffles me unless he just didn’t want to sign one

That's a shame, not even played, good for him though.
