Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban’s departure over the summer to Turkish SuperLig side Trabzonspor wasn’t a great surprise given his performances in our colours and it seems the loan spell has worked out for all concerned.
The 25-year-old has recently gained international action with Ghana and he has eleven starting appearances in the league, with eleven further substitute showings for Trabzonspor and he’s now returned five goals for them.
In recent weeks the player himself had spoken about being happy at the club and hopefully extending his time with them as I’ve covered those reports previously, and there were speculative pieces from the Turkish press that implied Trabzonspor were happy with his efforts and his development with them, and they would be tempted to enact the reported £900,000 permanent clause in the arrangement.
In recent times, his agent, Graziano Battistini was quoted by tuttomercatoweb as basically saying it was now effectively a done deal and the paperwork just needed to become official when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
“He has important potential and he is demonstrating it. Trabzonspor will buy the striker from Leeds.”
The vast majority of fans, as expected, were more than happy to wish him well for the future now that he’s finally got himself up and running.
Caleb Ekuban’s agent, Graziano Battistini, believes the on-loan Leeds striker is loving life with Trabzonspor and will be making the move permanent this summer.
Comes as no shock and I doubt many will miss him….
