United have made an offer to loan Celtic’s French winger Didier Agathe until the end of the season as Kevin Blackwell looks to fill a position initially earmarked for Steve Stone.
There would be no transfer fee involved but Leeds would be expected to take over his wages.
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan said last night: ‘Didier has been asked to go to Leeds on loan for the rest of the season and Middlesbrough would like to take him for a period at the beginning of January. Didier’s contract is up in the summer and it would be better for him to look elsewhere.’
