Despite limiting Derby County to only one registered effort on target last weekend, Leeds United still only walked out of the game with a point to show for our efforts, so the aim for manager Marcelo Bielsa in this Saturday’s clash with Charlton Athletic at The Valley was simply to get back to winning ways and try and open a gap at the top of the table.
It was the now typical performance from manager Marcelo Bielsa’s side, we dominated the ball and created the far greater chances but with few ending up on target, they made identical chances count and took the lead 32 minutes in and 1-0 was where the score sat at the half time break.
With no additional goals coming in the second period, we fell to our first away defeat of the league season and missed the chance to return to the top of the pile.
It should never have been a defeat really but we simply didn’t test their keeper enough sadly.
