Kiko Casilla has, let’s just say, a strained relationship with Leeds United fans.
His erratic behaviour has been the subject of much concern amongst the supporters. His errors at the back end of last season, particularly those against Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County are just two examples of how he’s not quite up to Manuel Neuer’s level when it comes to playing outside the box.
At the same time though, he has shown the ability to pull off some quite spectacular saves, so it’s not as if he’s completely useless.
However, with the departure of Bailey Peacock-Farrell to Burnley, it would appear as if the number one spot is his and his alone for the foreseeable future, so fans best get used to seeing him flying around between the sticks, and between the penalty areas too. As his heat map showed yesterday, it seems as if he hasn’t quite learned his lesson about staying inside the 18-yard-box.
And that certainly didn’t go unnoticed by the fans on social media yesterday. If he keeps us his shenanigans for much longer, I think they may need to start leaving defibrillators under every seat at Elland Road.
He is quite possibly not the full shilling – it’s kind of bowel loosening horror mixed with episodic spasms of terror. And that’s just a quote from the Leeds backline.

I have enough medical issues as it is. I don’t think I can cope with 46 games of a goalie who makes that Colombian guy who did the scorpion kick at Wembley look like an average goalie.

As long as we score three times as many as the mistakes he makes we will be perfect

Absolutely love him, bet he’s a top lad to sup with. Crazy horse. Gets my vote.

He is going to cost us so many points this season.

Actually thought he was mostly good today

I like him.
He comes for absolutely everything!!! #he might not always get there.
But think over the keepers we’ve had in the last decade.
Vampires, the lot of them. Terrified of crosses!

Casilla is the best keeper in the championship, he’s the most experienced, the best in distribution. Obviously modern keepers who plays with their feet take more risks but let’s remember that with him we have an extra outfield player , an extra CB and Bielsa wants that. Obviously there’s going to be risks and mistakes which sometimes conceed goals but in the long run he will be very useful. What I want to see more is there will be better communication between him and his defenders mostly Cooper as it seems there is no good communication between him and Cooper
love casilla – one in great tradition of barmy keepers – never a dull moment and his confidence is absolute. we may all need tranquilizers watching him but he is a top keeper
