Yesterday marked one of the most infamous moments in our history – the 1975 European Cup final.
Of course, we don’t really want to think too much about the anniversary because, of course, it’s proved to be one of the most contentious issues in our past.
We should, really, have become European Champions for the first time against Bayern Munich but for reasons we’re all aware of, that didn’t come off.
Let’s take a look, then, at the response to the tweet the club put out to mark the occasion:

I can still see me aged 12 watching this. Cried my eyes out. My Dad said ‘Dont worry, they’ll be back’ HOWEVER this is woven into the very essence of us being who we are. And this (and the rest of the cheating we have endured) makes us who we are #WACCOE

Tough night, could it still happen now where clubs ‘influence’ the Referees – probably not?

I was 10 years old and watched the game at a friends house as they had a colour TV. Cried all the way home.

The Verdict
Obviously, getting to the final was an achievement and we could only dream of getting there now as things stands but, even so, it still hurts.
We were good enough to take the trophy back to West Yorkshire and had it basically stolen away from us.
What do you remember of it? Let me know!
