It was a good weekend for Leeds United fans as we welcomed Blackburn Rovers to Elland Road for our last Championship clash before the November international lull kicked in.
Not only did we see a better performance by Patrick Bamford, who got his reward by breaking his recent goal drought, but the fact it came from the penalty spot also made it all the sweeter. His assist for Jack Harrison’s second was the icing on the cake.
"Is the standard dropping, is it really poor in the Championship this year or is just me?"
Tony Mowbray unimpressed by refereeing, bemoans 'soft' penalty award at Elland Road.
Gives plenty of credit to Leeds.https://t.co/uVW80jzN9x#lufc

Plenty of the talk post-game was about the penalty award as we don’t usually get them, especially one that soft in reality and it was something opposition manager Tony Mowbray brought up in his own after game interviews.
Maybe surprisingly, given our experience with inept officials and some utterly dodgy decisions in and around the penalty box, Mowbray actually had plenty of support for his criticisms of the day amongst some fans on social media.
He's spot on about the Referee, But he cannot be a hypocrite like most manager's are they're happy to take a Dubious penalty when it goes in there favour.

When you look at who's up there & their performances against us….Yep, poor standard. If only we'd scored a few more we'd be 9 points plus clear. Ah well…! #lufc

The officials was very generous in our favour yesterday, but because of how consistently bad the officials are – it’s about time it went our way for once. #lufc

I thought that was a fair assessment from Mowbray, it was a soft penalty and first 30 mins Leeds were far from convincing. Every time they got a corner I felt pretty nervous sat in the stand expecting to concede.

He’s right. The officials in this league are abysmal.
