A Whopping 107 Touches, Second Most Passes & 6 Tackles Gives Leeds Star MotM

It’s still incredibly early days in the 2019/20 Championship campaign, but on Wednesday evening Leeds United picked up another win over Brentford to see us return to the top of the second tier pile.

Despite dominating, real chances were few and far between, but following the second half introduction of Helder Costa and Eddie Nketiah, we finally saw the breakthrough come with nine minutes remaining in the game.

1-0 and Nketiah makes it two in two for him, but statistics website Whoscored had a different player in mind for their star man award. Kalvin Phillips picked up a score of 7.75 to take Man of the Match given his overall performance across the 90 minutes.

Completing the top five on the day were Ben White (7.68), Nketiah (7.19), Costa (7.16) and Ezgjan Alioski (7.03).

There’s a long way to go yet and there will be ups as well as downs, but if we can show a greater consistency and Patrick Bamford and Nketiah can keep their form going – knowing full well we have goals in us elsewhere on the pitch – there’s every reason to hope for more.
