I think it’s time we officially get rid of that ‘dirty Leeds’ title now.
I mean, if last night isn’t the biggest indicator that things have changed at Elland Road, I’m not sure what is. We’ve certainly come a long way from the days when Brian Clough would have a hissy fit over our style of play.
Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds took home the FIFA Best Fair Play Award for their role in the controversial game towards the end of last season against Aston Villa. United received the accolade after they allowed Aston Villa to walk a goal into the net when they had earlier scored with a Villa player injured.
There have been a couple of non-Leeds fans who have been quick to point out the somewhat ironic circumstances surrounding Leeds winning a ‘Fair Play’ award having been found guilty during the whole ‘Spygate’ affair. Which, just in case there any reading this, we didn’t break any rules, so get over it.

However, when Leeds fans saw that we had won the award they couldn’t contain themselves. Possibly they saw a twinge of irony in the whole thing as well, but hey, at least we’ve got one trophy already this season.
Where’s @EFL congratulations for FIFA Fair Play Award to Marcelo Bielsa & Leeds Utd? Come on let’s see a tweet #lufc
