‘A chance he deserves’, ‘Interesting’ – Loads of Leeds fans discuss Bielsa’s Carabao Cup call

|

Marcelo Bielsa is due to name a vastly altered line-up to face Salford City in the Carabao Cup from the one who drew with Nottingham Forest over the weekend, but who exactly the boss calls on has been up for debate for fans on the R/Leeds United Reddit page ahead of kick-off.

Academy sensation Mateusz Bogusz is one name expected to feature in the starting line-up at Moor Lane on Tuesday night, after the boss called on the Poland youth international to show his potential in a competitive fixture after featuring regularly during our pre-season schedule this summer.

Deadline Day summer arrival Eddie Nketiah is not expected to make his Leeds debut in the starting XI, though, as the Arsenal loanee is still getting to grips with the boss’ tactics, and will only play a part from the bench against the Ammies.

On the other hand, those who watched Saturday’s draw with Forest from the dugout are expected to get up from their seats and lace their boots in the EFL Cup, as Bielsa looks to rest his first-team regulars for our trip to Wigan at the weekend.

The potential for a mixed line-up has seen fans suggest call-ups for Jack Clarke, Alfie McCalmont and Jamie Shackleton, among others, with the trio yet to make a first-team appearance this season.

Here’s who these fans feel Bielsa should call on in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup First Round trip to Salford City…
