6 Tackles, 1 Shot & 93 Touches Sees Leeds Academy Graduate Take MotM

Saturday’s early Championship clash between Leeds United and Sheffield United at Elland Road can only be described as a disappointment.

Plenty of the ball and 17 chances overall, but we failed to test their goalkeeper once with the woodwork being the closest we got across the 90 minutes. The visitors had one chance on target themselves, but unfortunately for us they scored from it to take all three points and knock us down to third place in the second tier table.

The battle for promotion is far from over though and our spirit was a massive positive – but it’s a game we shouldn’t have lost.

Statistics website Whoscored were probably harsh in their player ratings based on the game, the fact we ended down at ten men, yet were still pushing forward for an equaliser.

Kalvin Phillips took their Man of the Match award with a score of 7.16 and the top five on the day were completed by Pablo Hernandez (7.01), Mats Klich (6.70), Ezgjan Alioski (6.68) and Barry Douglas (6.49).

We knew there would be twists and turns, it’s about the reaction again now.
