A great, but ultimately, frustrating season for Leeds United came to a crushing end on Wednesday evening as Derby County put in their 2018/19 performance of the year to take victory in the Championship Play-Off Semi-Finals.

4-2 on the night saw a 4-3 aggregate defeat and Leeds can really only blame themselves as we had the possession, we had the greater chances and we got more on target – but our Achilles heel all year long (notwithstanding our injury problems) has been getting shots on target, but, past the opposition goalkeeper.

Statistics website Whoscored somehow had Derby generally rated better than us from the game, but I guess our failure to convert cost us on that front.

With two goals on the day, Stuart Dallas took their star man award to lift Man of the match with a rating of 8.58.

Completing the top five on the day were Jack Harrison (6.85), Kalvin Phillips (6.83), Patrick Bamford (6.74) and Luke Ayling (6.73).

A massively disappointing end to the campaign but plenty we can build on ahead of the 2019/20 season as we all know where we need to strengthen.
