5 Shots In Only 21 Touches Sees Leeds Man Take MotM As He Expectedly Silences Some Doubters

Leeds United got back to winning ways in the 2019/20 Championship campaign as we took all three points from Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

After plenty of criticism following his last performance, striker Patrick Bamford made his mark and opened the scoring in the 34th minute. Reminiscent of last season, Wigan were down to ten men when Bamford opened the scoring but unlike last season’s disappointment, he added a second in the 65th minute to ensure the three points came our way.

Statistics website Whoscored were pretty positive in their player ratings, but their star man and Man of the Match award was only ever going to go to 25-year-old Bamford as he made it three goals in three appearances for the year so far.

Having picked up a score of 8.35 for his brace, the top five on the day were completed by Pablo Hernandez (7.97), Liam Cooper (7.93), Barry Douglas (7.54) and Jack Harrison (7.52).

Additional mentions for Kalvin Phillips, Stuart Dallas and Kiko Casilla as they all received seven plus scores as well.
