5 Shots, 1 Key Pass & The Woodwork Takes Leeds Man To MotM But It Won’t Stop The Ongoing Criticism

Saturday’s early afternoon Championship kick-off between Leeds United and Derby County was always going to have some extra spice to it following on from the Spygate wibbling’s from the direction of Pride Park, and the Play-Off semi-final defeat that still lives in the memory.

We predictably battered them with possession and chances, but typically, once we gained the 1-0 advantage, we couldn’t build on it and when they finally managed to get an effort on goal – they scored from it.

Patrick Bamford will no doubt take some stick again for his failure to be more clinical, but Mats Klich penalty miss came back to haunt us.

Statistics website Whoscored understandably had their goalkeeper Kelle Roos as the star man from the game, but Bamford took their Man of the Match for us with a player rating of 7.36.

Completing the top five on the day were Jack Harrison (7.09), Kalvin Phillips (7.05), Ben White (6.94) and Pablo Hernandez (6.92).

A point wasn’t what we wanted, but in matching what Swansea City achieved against Bristol City, we continue to sit top of the pile on goal difference.
