4 Tackles, 3 Key Passes & A Role In One Goal Takes Leeds Star To MotM After Barnsley Success

Having gone into the September international break with disappointment following the defeat to Swansea City, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa did see his charges get back to winning ways in Sunday’s clash with Barnsley, but we were made to sweat for the three points.

Having controlled the game in our usual fashion and created good chances, we needed a late rally to break their resolve and we needed a late Eddie Nketiah effort to open the scoring, before former Leeds Academy graduate fouled the on loan Arsenal striker in the penalty box, to give Mats Klich the opportunity from 12 yards to tie the game up.

Our Polish international didn’t spurn the opportunity and the final whistle went 2-0 in our favour and we bounced back to the top of the Championship table.

Statistics website Whoscored gave out some great player ratings, despite the late nature of the victory, but fresh from his new long term contract, Kalvin Phillips again proved his worth as he took their star man award to lift Man of the Match with a score of 8.39.

Completing the top five best performers in their eyes were Kiko Casilla (8.33), Mats Klich (7.96), Stuart Dallas (7.62) and Liam Cooper (7.52).

Ben White, Jamie Shackleton, Eddie Nketiah and Ezgjan Alioski also all received seven plus scores for their efforts.
