Phil Hay is a man that must have the patience of a saint with the amount of questions he gets asked on a regular basis through the summer.

Of course, being a journalist, he should expect a fair amount of interaction during the transfer window especially and what’s good about him is that he really does respond to many of us.

Interestingly, then, one of his latest conversations has revealed that Vurnon Anita might be staying at the club this summer after all:

I’m sure he’d have gone had things stayed the same but, even so, I’m surprised that Bielsa can apparently see something that is worth keeping the 29-year-old around.

The Verdict

This would be a real surprise if Anita ends up staying at the club.

He’s a player that quickly fell down the pecking order but, I guess, injuries played their part in that and so potentially he’s a player that could enjoy a resurgence to form under Bielsa.

Certainly, he’s the sort of manager that would see such a turnaround happen under his guidance.
