Felipe Caicedo’s name does not seem to be going away at the moment and the Italian press are seemingly intent on continuing to report it.

The 29-year-old striker is free to leave his current club Lazio in Serie A and since we are looking for a new forward, it appears that Caicedo has been put in the frame.

Indeed, over the weekend Il Tempo – via talkSPORT – suggested that the South American could be on his way to Elland Road from the Rome-based side.

The 29-year-old is apparently coming round to the idea this summer of joining the Whites but, at the same time, I wouldn’t get too invested in this story for now.

The Verdict

Caicedo obviously has played at a top level and would potentially be a good signing but I don’t see it happening.

I wonder what his wages are for a start but I also can’t see that Bielsa is going to go after him given that we’ve not heard much about it from the press in this country.

Then again, that could have been said of Lewis Baker!
